God is FOR You

Psalm 56:9When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.”

Take a moment to let that sink in. The God of the Bible—the same God who spoke the universe into existence, who parted the Red Sea, who calmed the storms, who healed the sick and raised the dead, who fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish, who turned bitter waters sweet, who healed lepers and walked on water, who transformed water into wine, who died on the cross and raised Himself from the grave—that same God declares that He is for you.

This is not abstract theology; this is deeply personal. The same God who knows the number of hairs on your head, who hears every prayer, who fills His people with His Spirit and empowers them to do His work—even greater works (John 14:12)—says to you today: “I am for you.”

And of course He is… He gave His life for you.

And the apostle Paul echoes it centuries later in Romans 8:31:
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

What God spoke through David in the Psalms, He confirms again through Paul in the New Testament: no opposition, no enemy, no circumstance can stand when God is on your side.

The Battle in the Mind

For many, the real fight isn’t against enemies outside but against lies inside.

  • Lies that God is disappointed in you.

  • Lies that He’s waiting to punish every mistake.

  • Lies that say you’ll never overcome, never have victory, never be enough.

This is not truth. God does not condemn you. He is not against you. Scripture speaks louder than the lies:

  • Romans 5:1 – “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  • Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

You may wrestle to find peace with yourself, but in Christ you already have peace with God. Trusting in that truth is the foundation of healing. When you renew your mind to see yourself the way God sees you, and to believe what He has prepared for you, you step into freedom, restoration, and peace.

Your Expected End

In Jeremiah 29, God is telling us what we can expect. Faith is not a guessing game. Faith is trusting in what He says and in Psalm 23 God paints a picture of what we can expect living a surrendered life, secure in God’s care, even in the valleys. But notice how it ends:

Psalm 23:6“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

That’s your expected end: His goodness and mercy following you into every circumstance and His promise of forever with Him securing your future.

Watch Out for Self-Condemnation

Romans 8 reminds us of two powerful truths:

  • “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…” (Romans 8:1)

  • “…if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.” (Romans 8:9)

If you are in Christ, trusting Him as your Saviour, the Spirit of God dwells in you. That means condemnation no longer has a place in your life. You are free, accepted, and loved because of Jesus.

You just have to remind yourself of that because self-condemnation is a thief. It robs you of joy and blinds you to God’s favor. But the cross settled it all. If God says He is for you, who can be against you?

Why This Matters

When you know God is for you, it produces confidence. And confidence in Him produces REST.

Ask Him to give you a personal revelation of His grace in your life. Begin to see yourself as He sees you—covered in mercy, justified by faith, and held by His unshakable love.

So today, let His Word be louder than the lies. Rest in His love. Stand in His peace. Walk in the truth:

God is for you.
